Entry for August 29, 2006
What a day we have today. It is hot, muggy, and rainy. Charlie and I are going to put a down payment down for our back yard shed. We have to get room in the garage so my mom and dad can park their car for the winter. 10' x 14'...not a bad size. Charlie plans on running electric so that can put his desk in there and get away if he needs to. Hopefully it will be big enough to put a lot of stuff from the garage into it. Dear Lord, Please guide me each day to do Your will. Give me patience, do not make me bitter or nasty, let me think before I do something that will upset You. Amen. Today's reading: Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord. Have you never heard or understood? Don't you know that the Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth? He never grows faint or weary.....He gives power to those who are tired and worn out; He offers strength to the weak. Don't be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with My victorious right hand. To the poor, O Lord, You are a refuge from the storm. To the needy in distress, You are a shelter from the rain and the heat. For the oppressive acts of ruthless people are like a storm beating against a wall. When your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So lt it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything. Do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord, no matter what happens. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so you will continue to do God's will. Then you will receive all that He has promised. "For in just a little while, the Coming One will come and not delay." Waiting for God is not easy. Often it seems He isn't answering our prayers or doesn't understand the urgency of our situation. But that kind of thinking implies God is not in control or not fair. God is worth waiting for-and He often uses our times of waiting to refresh, renew, and teach us. LAB note for Psalm 27:14. 2006-08-28 14:28:37 GMT
