Entry for August 27, 2006
Dear Lord, Please guide me each day to do Your will. Give me patience, do not make me bitter or nasty, let me think before I do anything that will upset You. Amen. Today's reading: I will lie down in peace and sleep, for You alone, O Lord, will keep me safe. Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor fear the dangers of the day, nor dread the plague that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. He will shield you with His wings. He will shelter you with His feathers. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. He will not let you stumble or fall; the One who watches over you will not sleep. Indeed, He who watches over Israel never tires and never sleeps. The Lord Himself watches over you! The Lord stand beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not hurt you by day, nor the moon at night. The Lord keeps you from all evil and preserves your life. The Lord keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever. Let me live forever in Your sanctuary, safe beneath the shelter of Your wings! Even in darkness I cannot hide from You. To You the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are both a like to You. Since God did not spare even His own Son but gave Him up for us all, won't God, who gave us Christ, also give us everything else? You belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God. I will trust in Him and not be afraid. Do you ever think that because you aren't good enough for God, He will not save you? Because Christ gave His life for you, God isn't going to hold back the gift of salvation! He will not condemn you. And He will not withhold anything you need to live for Him.
