Entry for August 21, 2006
Today is back to work Monday. I had such a wonderful weekend. It all started out Friday evening. Charlie was chipping the branches from the pine tree that he was stopped from burning. Naturally my mom had decided she was going out to help him. And, she did. She would bring over the branches so that he could put them in the cheaper. So, I had Alex outside with me; and she made me look like a lazy person, so I had to get up and start to cut the branches with a rachet. I even have a blister to prove that I helped too. We then had a really nice visit from Will and Mary Ann. They had been out and didn't want to go home just yet so they came for a visit. They just live down the street a little; but we really don't get to see them all that often. Saturday, Charlie and I decided we would go for the day. It started out later than we had hoped because I slept in. My side really hurt on Saturday and it was easier just to lay still instead of getting up. However, when I heard my mom and dad, I knew I better get up because it was getting late. We started out just going shopping at the super Walmart in New Castle. Got some groceries that would not spoil and decided it would be a good time to get some lunch. We wanted to eat at a restaurant called 2 Tomatoes, but they didn't open until 4 pm on Saturdays. So, we decided to go to Hoss's. We haven 't been there for years and years. The salad bar is still as great as ever. We then took a short trip to Sharon. Haven't been there for years also. Saw a couple of good restaurants that we would like to try. We need to do this more and more. It is the only way that we can keep our special relationship with each other special. On Sunday, Charlie, my dad, and Hunter went fishing. I went with Lib and Mike to an Indian pow-wow. Since Mike is half Indian, this is something they go to every year. In fact, Mike's sister Rose spends the whole weekend there as well as his brother David and his family. But, we only spent 2 hours and that seemed long enough for all of us. Before I know it, it will be Friday again. The weeks seem to run into each other. And, school will soon be starting. Dear Lord, Please guide me each day to do your will. Give me patience, do not make me bitter or nasty, let me think before I do something that will upset You. Amen. Today's reading: I made you and I will care for you. But now, O Israel, the Lord who created you says: "Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you, I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up: the fames will not consume you." I will be your God throughout your lifetime--until your hair is white with age. Like an eagle that rouses her chicks and hovers over her young, so He spreads His wings to take them in and carried them aloft on His pinions. The Lord alone guided them. In His love and mercy He redeemed them. He lifted them up and carried them through all the years. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from......the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for a child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you! Our great God created us and cares for us. His love is so enduring that He will care for us throughout our lifetime and even through death. Then, if you have accepted Christ as your Savior, you will go to heaven to spend eternity with Him!
