Today's reading: God gave Solomon great wisdom and understanding. Now someone greater than Solomon is here. Prince of Peace. No one is likely to die for a good person, though someone might be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed His greater love for us in sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Though (Jesus) was God, He did not demand and cling to His rights as God. He made Himself nothing; He took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form. And, in human form, He obediently humbled Himself even further by dying a criminal's death on a cross. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is so great you will never fully understand it. Christ is the mighty power of God and the wonderful wisdom of God. In Him lie hidden all the treasures of widom and knowledge. The endless treasures available.....in Christ. God alone made it possible for you to be in Christ Jesus. For our benefit God made Christ to be wisdom itself. He is the only one who made us acceptable to God. He made us pure and holy, and He gave Himself to purchase our freedom. Even the queen of Sheba recognized the truth about God when it was presented to her--unlike Israel's religious leaders, who ignored the truth even though it stared them in the face.
