Entry for August 17, 2006
Well, last night was the last of soccer. Hunter's team was undefeated. Congratulations to all of the players and the coaches, too. Charley's game was also a good game. Congratulations to her team players and coaches as well. She really puts her heart and soul into playing. Heather said that Hunter's first football practice went pretty good last evening also. I am having some problems with my back and leg. I sure hope that the pain starts to go away. I can't even walk comfortable or lift or carry anything without having pain. Even sitting hurts. Well, hopefull the dear Lord will take pity on me and make the pain go away. Did you here that dear Lord? I think I will just take it easy tonight. I feel really tired and feel sorry for anyone who rubs me the wrong way. Dear Lord, Please guide me each day to do Your will. Give me patience, do not make me bitter or nasty, let me think before I do something that will upset You. Amen Today's reading: The person who wishes to boast should boast only of what the Lord has done. Let not the wise man gloat in his wisdom, or the mighty man in his might, or the rich man in his riches. Let them boast in this alone; that they truly know Me and understand that I am the Lord. Everything else is worthless when compared with the priceless gain of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I may have Christ. His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyonewho believes--Jew first and also Gentiles. Whom have I in heaven but You? I desire You more than anything on earth. My heart rejoices in the Lord! Not to us, O Lord, but to You goes all the glory of Your unfailing love and faithfulness. He must become greater and greater, and I must become less and less. People tend to admire three things about others: wisdom, power (might), and riches. But God puts a higher priority on knowing Him personally and living a life that reflects His justice and righteousness. What do you want people to admire most about you? LAB note for Jeremiah 9:23-24.
