I enjoy taking photos especially of my wonderful grandchildren. My hobby has turned into part of my everyday life.
Entry for July 27, 2006

We have made it back from Kennywood!!!!  What a day we had.  I will have a picture in the next couple of days.  Charley loves the water rides and did go on a number of times but did not break her record of 36 times last year.  Hunter's friend Andy came along with us for the day.  His mom and sisters went their way and Andy joined us.  It was good for Hunter since this was his first time going to have someone with him.  Not that he and Charley would not have had a good time together.  A group including Father Shori were on the Pittsburgh Plunge with Charley, Hunter and Andyl.  You get soaked when you go on this ride.  Thank heaven I learned the first year not to go on these rides.  Charlie didn't go on any of these rides either.  The biggest thing the he missed was not being able to get a beer or two.  When we got home he sure made up for it.  Can't really blame him.  I enjoyed drinking some of his just has much as he did.  Charley and Hunter have bible school today.  Charlie was going to let them sleep as long as he could before he gets them up to get ready.  Hunter feel asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.  He was tired.  My ankles sure swelled up.  I had a really hard time walking this year.  Infact my who leg hurts today.  Good thing I am back to work and don't have to do alot of walking or standing.  Tonight we are going to get grout for the front entrance way.  Charlie layed the tile down on Monday and we have to grout, paint the door, and put up the door frame.....and that job will be done.  Next to finish upstairs is the bathroom.  I can hardly wait to have the entire upstairs finished.  During the winter we plan on working on the basement.  Going to make it into a playroom for the grandchildren.  And remodel the laundry and downstairs shower.  It will get done. I wouldn't think so if Charlie hadn't done so well finishing the upstairs.

Guidance or a Guide?  Sometimes when we ask God our "Why" questions, instead of giving us answers He give us Himself--the Comforter.  From Luke 11:13 we learn: Even as fathers give good gifts to their children, so our Father gives the best gift, the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, to us as we ask.  It reminded me of conversations with my daughter Jessie about why I wouldn't allow her to sleep over at a friend's house:  "I can give you my reasons, but you won't like them or understand them, and you'd only argue with me.  So let's just accept that this is the way it's going to be, and I'm sorry you feel sad."  Often when we ask God for guidance, what we really want is a guide.  My friend told me of a conversation he had with his young son shortly after they moved into their new house.  "You can find your way to your new bedroom in the dark by simply turning on the lights in each room as you go."  There was an uncertain pause, then.  "But, Daddy, won't you please go with me?"  mary jane worden
