Entry for September 28, 2006

Today is the day that Charlie's shed is coming.  He is so exited.  I will find out more tonight when I get home from work and pass along.  I hope it is as nice as what we saw a sample of.

Dear Lord, I have to thank You for helping me to have patience these past weeks.  Please continue to help me.  I need all the help I can get.  Please Lord, give me the patience I so desire, help me to understand how the family around me thinks, and help me not to explode when I don't like what is happening.  Amen.

Today's reading:  When Moses came down the mountain carrying the stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, he wasn't aware that his face glowed because he had spoken to the Lord face to face.  To you goes all the glory for your unfailing love and faithfulness.  Lord, when did we ever see You hungry and feed You?  Or thirsty and give You something to drink?  When You did it to one of least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to Me!  Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself.  Serve each other in humility.  Jesus' appearance changed so that His face shone like the sun, and His clothing became dazzling white.  Everyone in the council stared at Stephen because his face became as bright as an angel.  All of us have had that veil removed so that we can be mirrors that brightly reflect the glory of the Lord.  And as the Spirit of the Lord works within us, we become more and more like Him and reflect His glory even more.  You are the light of the world-like a city on a mountain, glowing in the night for all of us to see.  Don't hide your light under a basket!  Let your lives shine brightly before them.  Hold tightly to the word of life.  Moses' face glowed after he spent time with God.  The people could clearly see God's presence in him. How often do you spend time alone with God?  Although your face may not light up a room, time spent in prayer, reading the Bible, and meditating should have such an effect on your life that people will know you have been with God.  LAB note for Exodus 34:28-35.
