I think a memorial playground in Mary's memory is very appropriate.
Especially since the SCPD really dropped the ball on resolving her
murder. It seems like they waited for technology to advance and solve
it. If they would have done some very simplistic profiling..... lets say

in 1979..... hummm... Walla! It would have been solved. It's the least
city officials who govern the city, who's police department all but
turned it's back on this poor little girl can do. MARY QUIGLEY MEMORIAL
PLAYGROUND should exist. I WILL be at the meetings. Thank You.

My son goes to Washington Open Elementary, just around the corner from
the the park. I have been reading everything I could find on the
internet all morning. Thank heaven for DNA testing and ever evolving technologies.
This is such a disturbing story.
My heart goes out to Mary.

It only saddens me to find out that we need to petition "our" city to
name A Park after one of our true residence that was taken away from us. Yes
i wouldlove to be heard by the city counsel. We need to get away from the
word "WAR" it's a play ground of all things, it should have a name with
love in its heart, just as MARY'S does!!!!

I lived behind the Quigley family when they lived on Clarendon Drive in
San Jose. Mary's brother (Mike Quigley) used to hop our back fence
(so that he wouldn't have to walk around the block) to visit our mutual
friends John and Jim Roensch who lived across the street. I recall my
Dad saying: "Who's that long haired kid who keeps jumping our fence?"
My  reply was: "That's Mike Quigley dad ... it's okay, he's cool. He's
just taking a short-cut to visit John and Jim." I remember dad laughing over
it. My warm thoughts and sincere prayers are with your family. If you're
still around Mike, it would be great to hear from you. I still keep in
very close touch with John and Jim ... even what is now more than 3 decades ago.
Respectfully,
                  Roger
