On Wednesday morning, we stopped by our radio station Christian Radio FM 93 . There we were met by Willy (Station Manager) and some of the staff / radio hosts. It was a good time of sharing, afterwards Loni & Willy took Graham and I on a site seeing trip to show me a bit of Tonga for my birthday. Some of the places we saw were very remote compared to what I'm use to.
While out, we met a lady named Lineni in one of the villiages a ways out from the main town. She is a very active believer that goes around her villiage to gather people to come in and listen to the Radio Bible School braodcasts. There are a number of others just like her in Tonga.
I was reminded of the passage of scripture that exhorts us to greet each other with a Holy Kiss. In Tonga, it is culturally accepted and almost expected to greet each other with a kiss. Really, it is just a light brushing of the cheeks. Few actually touch the lips to your cheek. The little children might give you a little peck. These people are so lovely and seem very genuine. As for the cultural greeting, I was thinking I'd have to give Bobby Vanover (for those that know him) a ten point written instruction sheet to get this right. He'd be petrified after the first strange guy that brushed cheeks with him.
