Looking at the upcoming Resurrection Sunday, it reminds us of what Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 15 : 1 -4. “Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the Gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which you were saved if you hold fast to the word which I preached to you – unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, in that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures.” (NKJV)
This is not a holiday about a rabbit and a bunch of eggs, but it is a celebration of our salvation that was purchased on a real cross of execution. Jesus shed His blood and died on that cross to pay the price for my and your sins. If we will acknowledge our sin, and thus our need for a Savior, and place our complete trust in what who Jesus is and what He did for us, we can be forgiven of our sins and be saved.
I challenge you as Resurrection Sunday comes around – if you have not considered where you stand before God, take the time right now and ask Jesus into your heart if you have not done so already.
