Book becomes a film!

"Random House Films has sent its first film into production. The feature film division of the publishing conglomerate—established last November—has announced that its maiden big screen picture will be Reservation Road, based on the same-titled novel by John Burnham Schwartz. With director Terry George (Hotel Rwanda) attached behind the camera and stars Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Ruffalo set to star, the film is scheduled to begin principle photography this fall in New England. The book, released in 1998 by Knopf (and then reissued in paperback by Vintage in 1999), which centers on a pair of fathers whose lives are changed after the death of a child, was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year."
