Entry for November 9, 2006 ![]() "Mama always says 'Life is like a box of chocolates'" .
This is how i remember Nathan Bedford Forrest, from "Forest Gump". Tom Hanks has simply made the character immortal. The film opens with an extended shot of a feather floating in the breeze, bypassing many other pedestrians and cars and eventually landing on Forrest's foot. This ties in nicely with Forrest's quote "life... floating accidental-like on the breeze". This shows that one theme of the movie is destiny (or the lack of it)....it signifies Forest's approach towards life..."Take it the way it comes, go where ever it takes" it is so true in my case....had i not been open to the options coming my way, and been rigid for a certain set of choices , held close to my heart..i would not have got a chance to see the country(my sales/marketing career took me across entire India) & this was not even my first choice for career ! Simillarly with choosing welingkar bangalore as my choice for MBA, all these actions were...difficult to take, but i had faith and had decided on Forest's approach towards life....and i am happy! 2006-11-09 17:44:50 GMT
