Closer Look at JP's Barrel and Eval: John Part Hero Tungsten is my latest evaluation

Is the Unicorn information and picture.

I just got these Darts in from Black Bull Darts and have every intention of making them my primary dart. The 2007 line of General Parts dart come with the phil taylor grips which I am a fan of having used phil taylors purists, heros and golden variations. The barrel is 1/4 in diameter and I got the 24g's

2.000" (50.82mm) long. Although they seems shorter. Unicorn gets an A for their presentation with Eclipse Max Case. I give this case kudos for how much you can carry neatly in such a small non-bulky case. 3 sets of flights 3 sets of shafts and if you wanted a host more odds and ends in the extra compartment. You could prob fit another set of barrels in there if you were so inclined.

This dart is front loaded. There is no doubt about it. It may be slight but it definitely is. Also my set does tapper to the back. Wierd as my previous sets on Unicorn Parts did not. My unscientific roll on table proves this to be so. You get the Phil Taylors grips from the signature all the way to within about 1/4 inch from the front. Where it breaks to the same front/nose as other Part darts.

The dart is balanced well with the original configuration right out the package. You get the "Cool under Pressure" flights and another generic Unicorn Standard Flight. I liked them straight away. Interesting note is that you get a washer and not an O-ring to hold the shaft on . (Works really well) They work with both with the Nylon and the XLTi 100% Titanium shafts that come with.

Throwing the dart I found the grippy shaft to be of liking, However if you don't like aggressive grips i would go with the regular JP's and not the new Hero's. They landed great and its obvious to me Unicorn has another quality dart on their hands.

Overall I give this dart an 8/10. This is only after say 200 darts. i am going to adjust etc until I find the right combination for me. Then i'll follow up this eval. i do not like the points again. I overlooked this with the Irina Armstrong darts but I can't in this case because of the added price. Unicorn needs to find a better point for their darts. Without serious scuffing this dart is falling out of even new boards.
