Chapter 2: When In School

My first day of School was September 6, 1980. The name of the School was Jasper Street School and the names of my Teachers were Mrs. Villineuve (K), Miss. Chantel (Rosenhof School - Swift Current, Saskatchewan) (1), Mrs. Coulter (Grade 2) and Mr. Chant (Grade 3). Jasper Street School was a red brick, square Building with Six Classrooms and the Principle's Office on the upper floor, Six Classrooms on the lower floor and Bathrooms/Mudroom/Cloakroom in the Basement. The School housed Grades K-3 then the kids went to Sidney Street School for Grades 4-8 then, finally, they make it to High School - MCCHS (Maple Creek Composite High School) for Grades 9-12. I didn't make it past Grade Four - for the second time! - before my Family moved to Chilliwack, British Columbia in 1986. In Chilliwack the real "fun" started. One time the School, in their infinite stupidity, refused to give me extra help in most areas, even though they knew I had a problem. So, what do I do? I quit School for the next Six months until they give me what I wanted - well, almost. Ok, I didn't get what I wanted but hey, I had fun. The rest of School is a blur to me right up until Junior High School in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba. In 1988 I was enrolled into Ecol Prince Charles School and they put me in a program called D.E.O.S.(Developmental Educational Occupational Skills) Level 1. They called it "Modified Education". I call it "Special, Special Ed". They were Teaching it, the other Kids were learning it, but I wasn't.
