My Reunion With My Sister
What a feel it was to hug my sister after 32 years of being apart. My family and I drove to Minnesota to meet her on August 15th, 2002. We arrived in Minnesota on Friday at 9:30 pm and waited for them in a Wendy's parking lot. We only waited for about 10 mins, and we saw the car pull in. What a sight it was....there in the car was my sister. The car pulled up and she got out and just about knocked me over........we hugged.....we cried........we looked at each other for a few minutes and hugged again. It was awesone to say the least. It seems the last 32 yrs just melted away and we were together again. They drove us to our hotel where we visited for a few mins as it was late and made plans for the next day. We had two days to be together before I had to go back home.
The next day we met at our hotel and went to a flea market which was very nice. We went back to our hotel room and the kids went swimming and Lauren and I spent some time together just talking. I had brought a few things for her from her childhood that had wanted to give her. It felt so good to be able to give them to her after saving them all these years.
Sunday we all went to church and thanked God for bring us together. After church we went to her home and spent time going over some pictures and just talking. Lauren and her husband Justin are wonderful. I have two beautiful nieces, Tyler and Alacia.
Monday was the hardest day of my life.......we had to leave and I didn't want to go. Two days were not enough, I must have cried all the way thru wisconsin. We are now trying to get plans together to spend our first Thanksgiving together with all our siblings at my home in New York.
I have since discovered that we look alot alike by looking at the pictures we took. We have the same eyes, nose, and even legs.....hahaha. We also write alike which took me by surprise since I am a leftie and she is right handed.
I want everyone to know who is searching for a loved one to NEVER give up hope.....and put it all in God's hands. I did this and God showed Lauren the way to me. It may seem as if He's not listening to you....but He is and in His time He will give you your heart's desire. Just trust him. I also want to thank all those who kept me from drowning and not giving up.....they know who they are. I have met some very special people on the net and I will never forget them.
