My story starts with the death of my mother. She died in July 1970 after battling breast cancer in the late 60's, early 70's. We were a family of seven children ranging in age from three to eighteen: five boys and two girls. My father was an alcoholic who later died in 1986. He chose not to accept responsibility for us, therefore, we were warded to the State of New York.
My maternal grandparents were in their 60's at the time of my mother's death. Although they wanted to assume guardianship of all of us, they believed that this was infeasible due to their age. The three older children (which included myself) stayed with my grandparents. The four younger children were put into foster care and were eventually placed for adoption. Over the years we have been fortunate to locate two of my brothers that were adopted. The twins have not been found.
After my grandmother's death in 1996, we have been going through her belongings. We found some pictures of my family that pre-dated my mother's death. This has rekindled my desire to reunite with all of my siblings. We have been searching aggressively for the last 5 years; however, we keep running into brick walls.
There are many reasons why I have such a desire to be reunited with my brother and sister. Lauri is the only sister I have. It would mean a great deal to me to have a sister with whom to share things with. Being seperated for over 30 years, we have a lot of catching up to do. Medical hitory is another reason. There are many things that they need to know, as they could have an affect on them and on their children. Todd and Lauri also have many nieces and nephews, not to mention brothers and sisters who want to meet and get to know them. We've all missed out on so much of one another's lives, it's time to change all that and find them!
Thank you for taking the time to read our story. Todd and Lauri are out there somewhere. I will never give up, I will find them. Thank you for you time, and God Bless.
