THE QWERTY SOFTWARE DOWNLOAD PAGE
Ok, so here's the deal: I played Final Fantasy for the first time in late July, and i've been hooked since. So, a few weeks ago i started to work on my own RPG, FF6 style. First thing i did was make up a mock menu system, download that here. Use numpad keys w/numlock on to move, 5 as 'enter', and + to go back a menu level. this was just to test fonts and such, it doesnt really do anything yet. Next, after weeks of writing up the plot and a little game code(not ready for upload yet), so i decided i'm gonna need movies/cutscenes. i wrote the engine by hand as well as wrote a program that made the movies for the engine. download those here. also download the movies themselves here. later i'm gonna upload a combination of the menu and cutscene engines, with the intro movie playing(with the QS logo), followed by the opening screen for xerol's quest(which will loop until you press 5). then it goes into the menu(the actual game itself will start with a 'new game/load saved game' option). i should finish that by 9pm edt on 9/20, but if it isnt here by then, it will be by 9pm on 9/28.
This is the biggest change on the site in a long time. Ok, so Xerol's Quest isn't anywhere near done, in fact it's barely even started. But, I've been working on pieces of the game and have made some interesting things in the process. Let's start with some of the 3d things. Here's an example of what my 3d engine took 25 minutes(on a P166) to render:
That's not the final rendering of that, but it's a start. For one thing, I'm going to add shadows under everything else, and behind the curtain, which will be extended to cover about half of the stage. I am also going to expand the room horizontally and then zoom out a little more to allow for maximum viewing. Ok, next up, a weapon from Xerol's Quest. The game is going to be FILLED with wierd weapons, items, and spells. So, behold the Swspork! Part sword(actually mostly sword), part fork, part spoon!
So I'm not a great artist....anyway, most of my graphics are going to be entirely computer-generated.

UPDATE(6 April): I assembled all my pictures of the inferno on one page,
here.
