Having viewed a 1990 FourWinns 205 SunDowner, I was totally fasicinated by the design. It seems like reliving my childhood dreams of owning a self-relient space-craft!
Shown below is the 2002 model of the 205 Sundowner, but I definitely can't afford it! I'll work towards buying my very first craft! I guess I can only afford a 2nd hand Bayliner Ciera 2252 , a Bayliner 19' Capri Cabin, or even the 1990 FourWinns 205 Sundowner that I viewed. Sometimes I wished that I am born rich, with a rich family...but at least if I ever buy a boat, I can say that it my VERY OWN! Bought it from my own hard work and efforts!!!!
The engine is only suitable for small boats and calm seas. Together with Walker Bay 8 footer boats, their price is about S$1500 (S$700 for the boat & $800 for the 4 stroke engine)
Nice and cheap combo for an option to enjoy boating, but not my perference. I would feel more confident to have the power as and when I need.
However, too much of a power would consume too much petrol! An owner once told me that his twin OBM 250HP (500HP total) fishing boat will cost him SG$900 for 600 litres of petrol!!! Expensive hobby, but still beats owning a car in SIngapore where you have to pay road tax, COE, parking, etc...For a price of a new Honda Civic, I can probably buy a decent 2nd hand 28 footer luxury cruiser by SeaRay.
