QVSC Holds Annual Awards Banquet
The Royal Canadian Legion Hall was the site for the annual awards banquet for the Qu'Appelle Valley Ski Club.  A wonderful pot luck supper was provided for all and videos of the action from the season past were shown for all to enjoy.  The coaches from the Nancy Greene Ski League were introduced who in turn called up each of the athletes from their group to receive their passport books and Skill Award Level Pins.  Congratulations to all the athletes for the tremendous improvement shown during the year.  Congrats also to the coaches who have dedicated their time to  improving the athletes skill level as well as develop their love of the sport.  Head coach Kirk Cochrane introduced the members of the Alpine Race Team and also called up the Development Team for the opportunity to be part of the pictures been taken with the Sask Cup Race Series Championship plaque.  The Q.V.S.C. awards for the Alpine Race Team were then presented as follows:

The annual Crash of the Year award as selected by Kirk Cochrane was then presented.  This year was a toss up between two very spectacular crashes, one which destroyed a large section of fencing and one that broke a ski helmet.  Fortunately, both klutzes......er....athletes were able to walk away from each incident.  The Crash of the Year ended up a tie between Chris Reid and Matt Kuhling!

Kirk called upon the Alpine Race Team graduating members (Andrea Delaney, Clark Whiting and Jill Wilson and Amber Simmons) so they could have pictures taken with the provincial plaque and receive recognition for their efforts at helping make QVSC a great TEAM!

These graduating members then presented the coaching staff of the Alpine Race Team with a plaque in recognition of their success at coaching QVSC to seven consecutive provincial championships.
