What follows are the rules for playing Quidditch with regard to the Circumvector Specularis RPG.  It is recommended that the seeker on each team has the fastest internet access, and that the remainder of the team isn't intellectually challenged.  Here's why... and how it works.

At the beginning of the Quidditch match, the teams will assemble in the Quidditch Arena, more commonly known as the Circumvector Specularis Club chat room.  It is important that everyone arrives promptly.  If there is no Seeker at the start of the time, the game will be forfeited to the other team.  If both teams are lacking Seekers, the game will proceed involving the rest of the players.  Games will in no way be postponed for any reason.  July is the Quidditch season.  Tuesdays are it.

The match will begin on time exactly, or according to Amy's alarm clock.  Here is where players will require a brain of some sort.  The remainder of the game is determined by the knowledge of the participants, or who can access their Encarta on CD the quickest.  Aside from the Seeker.

After the starting question, the Seekers can leave.  They must then go to the home-page of this site, and search the pages for the Snitch.  There will be a picture of it up shortly.  This is not just the HP part of this website either.  I'll have you know that this site in it's entirety, once finished, will end up being over 200 pages in size.  So this is quite a task.  You are looking for the Snitch.  Once you find it, you need to book it back to the club chatroom and announce what page the Snitch is on.  Whichever Seeker gets it first, their team will be given 150 points, the game will end, and the winner will be announced.

Meanwhile, while the Seeker is out looking for the Snitch, the rest of the team will have an opportunity to earn some points.  General knowledge questions are asked.  Some of which will have something to do with the Harry Potter books, but the majority of which will be things people can pick up on from watching trivia shows, or being so bored out of their minds they read Webster's Dictionary.  If anyone cares enough to prepare for this, that is what they ought to do.  The order of the questions, and the results are below.

*? # 1:: This is for possession of the Quaffle.  Both team's chasers are asked a question.  Whoever responds properly and the quickest, that team gets the Quaffle first.

*? # 2:: For the Chaser on the team in posession of the Quaffle, and the Beaters on the opposing team.  Here the Beaters on the other team have the opportunity to knock the ball away from the Chaser.  If a Beater on the opposing team answers the question correctly and first, the Quaffle is knocked away by a Bludger, and game-play returns to ? # 1.  If the Chaser with the ball answers, then it's on to ? # 3.

*? # 3::For the Chaser with the Quaffle and the Chasers on the other team.  Now the Chasers on the opposing team will attempt to steal the Quaffle.  If the Chaser that has the Quaffle answers, game-play will proceed to ? # 4.  If one of the other Chasers answer, the game returns to ? # 2, with these Chasers in posession this time.

*? # 4:: For the Chaser with the Quaffle and the opposing team's Keeper.  This is for a 10 point goal.  If the Keeper answers, the shot is blocked and the game continues with ? # 5.  If the Chaser answers, score for them!  The 10 points are recorded, and the game goes back to ? # 1.

*? # 5:: For the other 2 Chasers on the same team as the Chaser who just shot, and the other teams Beaters.  The other Chasers now have a chance to regain control of the Quaffle.  If one of the Chasers answers, the game-play goes back to ? # 4.  If a Beater answers, it starts over w/ ? # 1.

The Chaser in possession of the Quaffle may pass it to another teammate between the questions.  Just type *PASS* in all caps, surrounded with the **'s.  Then you may type in the name of who you wish to pass it to.

The Beaters can periodically type in *BLUDGER*.  All caps, w/ **'s.  All the other Chasers and Beaters must type in *DODGE* as quickly as possible.  The last person to type that, is taken out of the game until someone scores and game-play returns to ? # 1.  Once again, this must be between questions.  You can't interrupt the flow of the game just to hit a Bludger.
