Disaster has a way of clarifying priorities.
When it looks like this day, this very day, might be your very last day on this Earth, above ground, you suddenly realize that you can no longer procrastinate.
Too often, we waste time mindlessly watching television, surfing the web, or napping.
However, if today was all that you had to work with, you will likely ask the following three questions.
It is your absolute right to hold a grudge.
It has been my privilege to travel to other regions of the world that live by a law of payback.
Think of the Hatfields and the McCoys.
I have heard of offenses that have kept tribes at war for centuries.
Anger over a murder several generations ago keeps cultures at a stalemate and often open hostility.
At a smaller scale, siblings not talking to each other for decades keep holidays awkward.
It has been said that a lack of forgiveness is like swallowing the poison and expecting someone else to die.
Statistics vary, but many experts believe that refusing to forgive is a common cause of mental illnesses.
Yet, the refusal to forgive is still yours to make.
The stress related to NOT forgiving can lead to physical and mental illnesses of all sorts.
So now, it is your last day drawing breath.
Why not end the pain and take the moment to forgive that person that offended you?
Realize that by offering forgiveness, you are not saying that what they said or did was ok.
What you are doing is setting your mind and soul free from the hurt.
When forgiveness is at least offered there is a release that will make those last few hours more bearable.
I have seen forgiveness bring clarity to a wide array of issues.
Sometimes, the healing brings together entire families.
In Hollywood, it helps to prevent wars and saves lives.
While likely not that dramatic for you, it could still save a kehidupan.
So, WHO will you forgive on your last day?
What is that one thing that you selalu wish that you had done?
Why not take the chance to live out that fantasy?
Run through the mall dressed like a super hero.
It is still not too late to actually live.
“All men die but not all men truly live.”
Fear often holds us back from kehidupan’s great adventures and fun.
One time, I and a friend, who really had no clue how to sail a boat, went sailing.
I don’t know what we were doing wrong, but I do know that our boat was not going where we wanted to go.
It became obvious after just 30 minutes or so, we were going out to sea unless we did something drastic.
I have seen movies where orang ultimately eat each other in circumstances like that.
While I like my friend, I know he would probably taste bad.
We jumped off the boat and became our own propeller by kicking until we were moving closer to land.
To this day, we still laugh at our stupidity.
It was one of the greatest moments of our young lives.
If this might be your last day, what do you have to lose?
If you ask that person out and they reject you, you only have a few hours left to feel that pain.
You have selalu believed that the marathon would kill you, why not find out if that is true?
Maybe going for a camel ride in the Middle East or ride an elephant through the tropics of India would float your boat.
Maybe just seeing an ocean or visit and island would make your heart sing.
What historic sites would fill you with joy?
This earth is really not that big anymore.
Go see the Great Wall and enjoy every minute of the trip.
Take a Safari. Up until now, you have held back because it cost too much or you simply could not get away from work.
All of those have now been removed for you.
If this really was your last day, you would NOT be reading this blog post.
So I have a couple of questions to ask you.
It is time today to go and forgive and receive forgiveness.
Go make things right as much as you are able.
It is ok to disagree and still be friends.
I know that fear often keeps us from taking the greatest chances in this kehidupan?
My grandfather took a flight home from Korea in 1952.
He did not get on a plane again until the last couple years of his kehidupan, so he could go parasailing with my cousin.
That trip put wind in his sails and he really lived the last few years of his kehidupan, rather than simply exist.
The places of our dreams are calling out to you.
Go experience a different culture, different foods, and different ways of thinking.
Go out and see what the world has to share.
When will you begin to live this kehidupan rather than just exist?
You have chosen a new kehidupan of adventure and freedom.
You are choosing to experience kehidupan and suck the marrow out of the bones of this world.
Live the kehidupan that you have selalu dreamed of.
Create in your very soul a hunger for the dream kehidupan.
So far, nearly everyone that was born has died.
It is safe to say that someday you will be food for worms.
When you are lying on your death bed, what will you wish for, what will you wish that you had done?
Set some goals and start moving toward them today.
I appreciate the general idea of this article, but I don’t think it really has anything to do with your last day on earth. Spending your last day hang gliding, trekking the Himalayas? Please, that’s Hollywood. Performing the same actions that you do every day is much more realistic. Brushing your teeth, smiling at a friend. Most pentingly though is letting go. Which is what I think you intended to initially say. Letting go of anger, missed opportunity, love, and kehidupan itself. That is, of course, assuming you are not in a swimmy drug coma in a hospital
Lovely presentation which demonstrates that our obsession about obtaining economic and monatory growth is not going to help us in the long term but our friends, family and community connections will.
