Sitting Bull Quotes from the man that will be forever famous for defeating General Custer.

He is famously known as the Native American chief who rallied the Sioux tribes to defeat General Custer at what has since become known as Custer’s Last Stand.

Sitting Bull distrusted white men and did not want to agree to the treaties the United States government tried to make with the Native American tribes.

So, as the government continued to go back against their word, Sitting Bull united the tribes and led them to victory in the 1876 Battle of Little Bighorn.

Afterward, he continued to lead his orang to Canada, where they could be safe and out of reach, before turning himself in.

Once Sitting Bull was allowed to travel, he met Annie Oakley and eventually joined up with Buffalo Bill Cody’s Wild West Show.

Although this allowed him to ride in the show and sign autographs, some mocked him during the show.

When he was 54 years old, he left the show.

When the Ghost Dance Movement became popular, Indian police worried that Sitting Bull would become part of the movement and lead a rebellion against white orang.

However, when they confronted him at his house, another person shot one of the Indian police, and Sitting Bull ended up being shot and killed.
