| Senegal, is farther west than any country in Africa. It lies at the tips of the great bulge of Africa that sticks westward into the Atlantic Ocean. Dakar is the capital and largest city of Senegal. A road through Gambia links the northern part of Senegal with the southern part, called the Casamance. The country takes its name from the Senegal River, which forms the northern boundary with Mauritania. |
