About 90 million people live in Nigeria, and the country ranks as the world's ninth largest nation in population. Nigeria is a land of great variety. It is hot, rainy swamplands; dry, sandy areas; grassy plains; and tropical forests. High plateaus and rocky mountains rise up in parts of the country.
