The country ranks among the world's leading rice exporters. Trained elephants haul the world's best teakwood logs from Myanmar's thick forests. Oil wells gush along the Irrawaddy River. Mines produce precious stones such as jade, and minerals, including lead and zinc. Rubber trees grow on coastal plantations. Rangoon is the capital and largest city. |
