100 - Ouguiya
The Islamic Republic of Mauritania, located  in northwest Africa bounded by Spanish Sahara, Mali, Algeria, Senegal and the Atlantic Ocean. The economy centers on herding, agriculture, fishing and mining. Iron ore, copper concentrates and fish products are exported. On June 28, 1973, in a move designed to emphasize its non-alignment with France, Mauritania converted its currency from the old French-supported CFA franc unit to a new unit called the Ouguiya. Nouakchott is the capital city.
