| Chile, is the southern country of South America. It clings to the Pacific Ocean side of the Andes Mountains and covers about half the continent's western coast. This narrow, mountainous country is more than 10 times as long as it is wide. Indians gave Chile its name. They called the region Chilli, meaning Place where the land ends. Santiago is the capital city of Chile. |
