| Burundi is a landlocked country in central Africa. The original inhabitants of Burundi are believed to be the "Twa" (pygmy); they were there when the "Hutu" (Bantu) arrived in the 14th century, imposing their language and customs. Burundi became a constitutional monarchy on July 1,1962 and was admitted to the UN. Bujumbura is the capital city. |
