| The world's highest denomination note is Hungary 100 Million B-Pengo, issued in 1946. And that is 100,000,000,000,000,000,000 Pengo. It was worth about US $0.20 in 1946 and now in the year 2000 it's now worth $130 US dollars. Hungary also printed 1 Milliard B-Pengo. (1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) note in 1946. Overtaken by inflation, it was never issued. The lowest denomination note is Fiji 1 Penny, issued in 1942. The old penny being 1/240th of a pound, is a lower denomination that the current penny which is 1/100th of a pound. The note with no denomination is Tatarstan. which issued a series of currency checks without any denomination printed. The Chinese were the first one to use a paper money, beginning in the Tang Dynasty (618-907 A.D.)
