Deposit - placing money in a bank or other place for safekeeping. Dollar - a unit of money from US, Jamaica, HongKong, and others. Doubloons - a former spanish coins. Engrave - to cut or carve. Greenbacks - U.S. bill issued in 1861. The back of the bills were green, so people called them "greenbacks." Foreign - from another country. Interest - money paid for the use of borrowing money, or money that the bank pays a customer for putting money into their bank. Income - payment in-money for services or work, or from property or investments. Issue - the act of sending or giving out. Lend - to give the temporary use of money on the condition of repayment and at a set rate of interest. Minting - the act of making money out of metal. Money - coins and paper currency issued by a government for payment of debts and for puchase of goods and services. Mutilated - to cut up, destroy , or alter radically. Notaphilist - a person who collects banknotes. Notaphily - the collecting of banknotes as a hobby (Latin "nota" Note + Greek "phillia" Fondness). Numismatist - a person who collects and studies coins, notes, tokens, medals and the likes. Pence - a British, term meaning more than one penny. Peso - a unit of money from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Uruguay and others. Piastres - a former Spanish silver coin. Shilling - a unit of money from Kenya, Somalia and others. Savings Account - an account at a bank on which interest is usually paid and from which withdrawals can be made. Transaction - to carry through or bring about. Treason - the betrayal of one's country. Wampum - beads of shells strung in strands and used by american Indians as money. Withdraw - to take out. |
