THE ILLINOIS DEMOLAY CHAPTER OF EXCELLENCE
The CHAPTER OF EXCELLENCE award is designed to develope every Chapter in Illinois into a Chapter that excels. It requires a Chapter to have a well rounded program that the DeMolays will be enthusiastic about. It assures fun along with fiscal responsibility, work along with play, and service to the masons of the area, the community, and others. It requires effort in the areas of Membership, General Developement, Ritual, Planning involving all types of Chapter Projects, and Statewide participation.

MEMBERSHIP:
The Chapter must initiate 12 new members for the year. The "year" starts July 1 and extends to June 30th.

ADVISORY COUNCIL:
The Chapter must register two (2) new advisors to the Advisory Council in the year or hold an advisor recruitment event. The new advisors must receive their Advisors Membership Card from DeMolay International in order to be counted.

GENERAL DEVELOPMENT:
The Chapter must view the Youth Protection video once per term. This must be stated in the Chapter minutes.

A non-state officer member of the Chapter must submit an article to the
Illinois Inquisitor at least once a year.

The Chapter must raise at least $50.00 for the Kanes for Kiddies program

RITUAL:
Ritual Development: The Chapter must open and close half (50%) of its stated meetings without ritual books. The short form is acceptable.

The Chapter must confer both degrees of the Order at least once during each term.

TERM PLANNING:
The Chapter must submit two term plans per year to the Illinois DeMolay office at the start of each term.

The Chapter must hold one of each of the following types of activities per term: Social, Athetic, Masonic, Fund Raising, Civic, Other.

During the year the chapter must hold events fulfilling each Obligatory Day as set forth in the Leaders Resource Guide.

STATE EVENT ATTENDANCE:
Three (3) DeMolays and one (1) advisor from the Chapter must attend each Illinois major state event ( Conclave, Fallfest, Basketball Weekend, Brotherhood Day ).

The Chapter must compete in at least one team competition at Fallfest.

At least one DeMolay from the Chapter must Complete the IDU program during the period.

The
CHAPTER OF EXCELLENCE program starts July 1, 2003 and ends June 30, 2004. Upon completing the CHAPTER OF EXCELLENCE checklist, it should be forwarded to Illinois DeMolay. The Chapter of the Year will be selected by the State Officers and the Executive Officer from the CHAPTERS OF EXCELLENCE and will be presented at Conclave.

As evedence of a Chapter earning the Chapter of Excellence designation, a sword with a wall mount will be awarded to each Chapter successfully completing the program.
