Carl Dean "Alfalfa" Switzer lived a life of magic, music, adventure and fun. He's had more of his share of hard times and good times as just like the rest of us, of course, but as a child and as an adult, his eyes and life were and are filled with infectious magic and charm that rubs off on any one who comes across him or meets him in any given way, shape, or form.

Why Did we choose to honor Alfalfa over any other member of Our Gang? Simply because he was the one who was the most unique to us in the grand scope and in light of his entire life. He did many things as an child and as an adult that are truly awe inspiring and fascinating, some of which I'm not at liberty to freely discuss out of respect for him and his family.

As a child playing "Alfalfa" in the Our Gang / Little Rascals Comedies (1935-1940), he became a pop - culture icon by inspiring us to dream with his star-filled eyes, and his remarkable on-screen charisma. And as an adult (1940 - today) he eventually became an international figure; a man of remarkable mystery and intrigue, especially when he walked off the screen in 1958 and literally into eternity 46 years ago in 1959 to persue his new life. On January 3 of this year, after three years of investigative journalism to prepare this website, carlswitzer.com, I realized how significant the night of January 21, 1959 was and that what really happened then is more than I can tell you; Thus I realized how sincere and special Alfalfa is and was as a person in general and additionally towards children.

So the purpose of this website and radio station is to inspire people to dream through the magic of music and media the way Alfie inspired us. CarlSwitzer.com and K-ALF Songs of Magic belongs to Alfie in essence because of in large part what they comprised of .... Let's just say, that when we fully launch this site in a few days, it's going to feature an extensive tribute to Mr. Switzer's life and career and it will be geared towards touching your heart! In particular, our main goal is that we play music that stirs your soul, evokes memories and emotions deep within you, makes you dance, laugh, sing, shout with joy, cry and etcetera. Not only do we play your favorite artists and the hits you know them for, we also play songs that we feel should be radio gems.... You know how when you buy a CD in the store (or online) and you not only know and love the songs you're familiar with from the radio, but you love some of the other songs as well that aren't as famous.... We here at K-ALF Songs of Magic play those songs as well just as we do our collection of our major radio hit singles, and we affectionately like to call those alternate songs our "Underdog Hits" (because they've gone unnoticed by mainstream radio.

We are essentially a fan based effort. You are listening to an online playlist CD of sorts built for promotional use (for artist album promotions) with specialty recordings sprinkled here and there created by yours truly, all featured to inspire you. This is as if you're listening to what's playing in my cd player. I update the playlist hourly, and here and there each day we feature live events.
