Quilts Of Hope
Hello! My name is Paula. I run a group of stitcher's who make quilts for children with a long term or life-threatening illness. I am a christian. This is a christian-based group. We will be praying for these children. We do not require you to be a christian to participate.
My main reason for starting "Quilts of Hope" is due to my daughter McKayla. McKayla has been suffering from terrible stomachaches for many years. We took her to the doctor several times and they could find nothing wrong with her. I'm sure you can understand how frustrating that would be. In the summer of 2000 McKayla spent 4 days in the hospital. The doctors still didn't know what was wrong. They transferred her to our children's hospital. She had to undergo many tests. School started and we still had no answers. When leaving school ond day to undergo more tests, McKayla was given a stuffed monkey. She named him Monkey (original). Monkey seemed to become her lifeline when she was not feeling well. I realized how much it meant to her to have something to hang on to when she was not feeling well. That's where "Quilts of Hope" comes in. Instead of monkeys, we will be cross-stitching quilts to give to very sick children. Each quilt has a theme that reflects the child personality. If you are interested please sign the questbook and make sure to leave your e-mail.  I
