The Quilt Cottage Staff

Barb is the owner of The Quilt Cottage which opened on Chicago Avenue in Minocqua in 1995. The store moved to its present location in 2002. Barb is married to Dave and has three sons and a future daughter in law. She started sewing 24 years ago with maternity tops. That sewing evolved into an interest in quilting and a part time job in another quilt store Barb loves primitives and always has projects stacked up to work on.
Cheri is our "in house" long arm machine quilter. New to the north woods area in 2002 Cheri has established herself already by the quality of the work she completes. She is married with three sons and is settling nicely into the area. She started sewing in 7th grade and got into quilting with a quilt for a goddaughter some twenty years ago. She takes great pride in her work and enjoys helping customers chose the quilting designs that will enhance the tops they have created. Cheri can be contacted through the store to reserve a spot on her rapidly filling calendar.
Christine started sewing as a 6th grader and has been quilting for thirty plus years. Her grandmother and great aunts were extraordinary quilters and they would be amazed if they could see the tools available to quilters today. She and husband Tom moved full time to the northwoods in 2001. They have three sons, a daughter, son in law, and a beautiful new granddaughter.
DeeDee is our newest employee and oh so energetic. DeeDee was born and raised in Wisconsin. She is married to a wonderful man named Mike and has three adult children. She is new to quilting and is having a wonderful time learning this new hobby. Before she came to us she worked one on one with emotionally disturbed students. Her hobbies are beaded jewelry and wool projects. She excels at both. We have convinced her that she should be sharing her talents with you and she has agreed to teach several wool classes. You'll want to check the calendar and class listing for them.
Jeanne is Barb's right hand employee. She started sewing at about the age of seven. Her mom was her first sewing teacher but Jeanne has learned far more than her mom could teach her. She has extensive knowledge in tailoring and worked in the cottage industry sewing and designing pillows, table toppers, runners and so on. Jeanne is married to Richard and has two sons, a step daughter and a new daughter in law. The daughter in law is now learning to sew . Jeanne enjoys choosing fabrics and patterns and teaching others to quilt. Jeanne maintains several Block of the Month series at the shop. She is our top model producer and some of us on staff wonder if she ever sleeps.
Lori is our right hand weekend gal. We are all so grateful to have her on board. She loves piecing and has made some phenomenal pieces for the store. Come see the great fall and Halloween items on display. Lori is married with two children and resides in the Wausau area. The family spends most summer weekends in our area and that is how we were lucky enough to find her.
Robbi is married to Tom and has three children. She is a doting grandmother of two. We have had a surge in baby blanket fabric and kit sales since Robbi has been with us. The samples in the store are outstanding. Robbi really loves helping you pick out fabrics and has a knack for putting together great color combinations. She is extremely patient and will work with you until you are happy with your choices. Rob is our organizer and merchandiser. Come in and check out our great gift item displays she has put together for you.
Sandy is the mother of two daughters and she also has a grandchild. She moved to the area in 1977 from Milwaukee. She learned to sew as a young girl and has memories of sitting under her mothers quilt frame and pushing the needles back up when her mom tied quilts. Sandy enjoys hand quilting and teaching classes here at the store. Check out the Classes section of the web site for her latest offerings.
