I know just the place for you Throw away those silly pills I have a cure for all ills Don comfy shoes and come with me You need some retail therapy To Yarmouth market we'll go Absorb the atmosphere, the sights, the sound See stalls of fruit and veg so fresh Buy new potatoes straight from the ground Asparagus, beetroot, celery , mushrooms, leeks Punnets of strawberries, grapes by the bunch Juicy oranges, cherries , peaches pears Big crunchy apples, buy one to munch Fancy some chips, mushy peas or seafood Burgers or rolls or even a cake Everything here you could possibly want Bacon, fresh fish , a nice piece of steak Toys for the kids, bright towels for the bath A bone for the dog, handbags and cases Books , rolls of material sold by the yard Trainers and slippers and spare pare of laces Tapes and videos and dvd's Dressess and skirts and jumpers galore Bright yellow dusters five for a pound Pictures and mirrors, a bell for your door Need some fresh new laid eggs? Bedding plants or some flowers A round lacey tablecloth Or plastic curtains for showers And as we tread over these cobbles so old We're sure to meet up with someone we know We can stop and have a good mardle Catch up on the news, then we go Then when our feet tell us it's time to stop And our carrier bags are full to the top When we are fulfilled and shopped -out at last We can find a seat and watch the world go past Not for us the beach or a sail on the sea Great Yarmouth Market Place is The Place to be.
