QuikRoll
The Carriage for Unrolling Round Bales
This round bale carrier / unroller is designed to be pulled by a pickup.  The weight of the bale is carried by the wheels of the carrier and not the pickup except for very little tongue weight. Then lowering the bale to the ground to be rolled off while being dragged along.

It's a lot more practical to run a pickup engine than coldstarting a tractor just to unroll hay and this design is highway capable.

The design is simple and uses a hand winch to raise the bale.

This trailer type design is much like a bale buggy but incorporates the ability to unroll the bale as much or as little as you want and bring the rest back later.

The bale lift frame is pinned into place when traveling so there is no tension on the cable.

The spike arms that contain the bale and allow it to rotate when unrolling are driven in by thrusting them into the bale by hand.

Unrolling hay gives more cows a chance to eat, is less stressful than feeders, reduces foot rot and is less dangerous for young calves. Unrolling hay is very economical when feeding cattle daily and reduces damage to the pasture by changing feed locations.
