I looked into her eyes hoping to see the mischievous glint that was always there.

I hoped to see a sparkle of the memories built and secrets shared.

I searched for the reflection of past sunrises and sunsets we had seen from our boat; of reflections of firefly light and stars twinkling.

But none of these were in her eyes. Not one!

There was no reflection, just hollowness. No recognition or awareness.

It was as though her soul was being readied for a journey to a faraway place she had been preparing for for a long time.

Close your eyes love. Close the windows to your soul and let your spirit soar.

Say hello to Jesus for me!
