"Everybody
wants to go home, but nobody wants to die." I don't know who wrote that,
but it seems to be so true for so many. Including me, at times.
But,
as I grow older and the length of my life becomes more uncertain, time has made
me come face to face with where I want to go when I die. Since it's been hot
enough for me here on earth, I want to go to the beautiful garden that grows by
the mansion in heaven.
Being
human, I tend to sin in my thoughts, words and deeds. I've prayed and prayed,
asking God to show me the way to live my life so I can find my way home to Him.
His words, that I hear in my heart, are "One step at a time my child. One step at a time."
I would hear, "Don't run towards me, you might trip and fall. Take one step
at a time."
"Don't
look up as you come to me," the Lord said, "You may take the wrong
path. Take one step at a time."
"Don't
look down as you come to me.
Hold
your head up.
Be
proud you are my child and you are coming home. Take one step at a time."
Now, as I prepare to take my final journey, I take one step at a time, praising the Lord as I walk, my life fulfilled, my sins forgiven, and the walk is peaceful and serene.
One step at a time!
