On 16th January 2003, the BIFA (British International Freight Association) Annual Dinner and Awards Ceremony took place at the

Brewery in London. With a record number of entries from all spectres of the logistics chain, we are extremely pleased to announce that we came out top of our category, fending off some major companies in our field. Four finalists in each of the eight categories were presented with a Finalist Certificate by the event’s host, Quentin Wilson, with one entrant in each category receiving a sponsor’s trophy for outstanding excellence in its field.

The judges’ summary for our category read: “European Services, sponsored for the first time by Teleroute UK, was won by ITAL Logistics Ltd from Manchester. ITAL Logistics’ submission was focused on a road service to Italy, which had succeeded due to the personal service being delivered, leading to repeat business and recommendations, which helped ITAL show a profitable growth over the last two-and-a-half years.”

And furthermore, BIFA’s Director-General, Colin Beaumont, said: “The key to these awards is the independence of the judges, who include the

industry’s customers and suppliers, ensuring that the winners in each category are true ambassadors who properly reflect the best that the industry has to offer.”

It is extremely satisfying to be
recognised by your peers, especially when it is by the British International Freight Association. We were absolutely delighted that the judges considered ITAL Logistics’ entry sufficiently meritorious to be short listed for these

prestigious awards, in particular as we are such a small company in comparison with some of the other entrants. Absolute delight was an understatement when we were successful in winning the category, as just to be short-listed was gratifying enough!

The acknowledgement of two-and-a-half years’ work is not only due to ITAL Logistics though, as this could not have been achieved without the tremendous support and experience from our Italian partners, ITX Cargo. Their attitude towards providing a personalised service echoes ours, and it can only be this determination and unison of philosophies that has resulted in the success of this venture so soon in its existence. Let us now see what the next two-and-a-half years may bring!
