In the 22nd minute Culdaff's vulnerability in midfield was exposed when Anthony McColgan, who improves with every game, sent a fine ball to Vincy McColgan, from whose pass Mickey O'Kane, following a neat bit of juggling, shot low past McClure.
Jimmy Collins went close to equalising from a great pass from McCallion before Point netted number two, McClure getting his hand to but being unable to stop Liam McDermott's fiercely struck free kick. The league champions, who by now had substituted Charlie Kearney for the injured John McDaid, went further ahead after 33 minutes, O'Kane being the scorer following some clever inter-passing between Neil and Vincy McColgan. O'Kane was giving the Culdaff defence a harrowing time and three fine efforts of his just missed before Neil McColgan made the score 4-0.
Just on halftime, centerhalf Hugh Diver headed home a Brian Deeney free to reduce the leeway.
Any hopes of a Culdaff revival were quickly dashed on the resumption. Within 10 minutes Anthony McColgan had converted a Mickey O'Kane cross and O'Kane had completed his hatrick, netting the rebound after a briloliant shot from Laurence McColgan had struck the post.
Culdaff continued to put up a brave fight and Sean McColgan did well first to turn a rocket from Collins over the bar and then to parry a shot from substitute Danny McDermott. At the other end McClure now visibly hobbling, courageously touched a Neil McColgan thunderbolt on to the woodwork.
In a superb display by Quigleys Point, Liam McDermot, Anthony McColgan and Mickey O'Kane deserve a special mention.
