Part V
;His next mission was not as straightforward. It would have been, he had thoroughly researched the Victoria Base, and everything in it. He could attain his mission objective without killing anyone. He would just slip some knockout gas under the doors of the sleeping recruits, then he would be free to do whatever he wanted. He started on one end of the corridor and slipped the time sensitive balls under the doors. He was half way done when he saw another boy in the hall, affixing what seemed to be bombs to the doors of the dorm rooms. A second later the boy saw him. His eyes narrowed, his body tensed and Robin decided that now would be a good time to get out of the dormitory.
;The boy chased him. From infrequent backward glances he could see the boy was Chinese, and dressed in white slacks and a blue tank top. Robin was wearing a long thick trench coat, heavy jeans and a long sleeved shirt. He was also wearing his mask. At the moment his hair was blond and his eyes were hidden behind the starlight lenses that helped him to see in the dark. However the dark clothing did not help him since his opponent was too close. So Robin reached into his pocket and pulled out a small flash grenade. He nonchalantly threw it over his shoulder and squinted as the light illuminated nearly the entire hallway. He heard his opponent slow so Robin picked up his pace and soon left the other boy behind. If the other was affixing bombs to the doors, there was a good chance that he didn?t belong there either. Whatever he was doing there was inconsequential, Robin could use this boy's actions to his advantage.
;He made his way to the motorcycle that he had hidden nearby. Hopping on he quickly started the motorcycle and was pretty far when the dorms exploded. He narrowed his eyes, more than a little shocked by the callous disregard for life. Then again, he didn't do anything to stop it. Cursing himself he made his way to his Gundam so that he could destroy the mobile suits and trash the base. He then noticed a MS on his screens. It was heading toward the forest in which he was hiding, but he knew he was well hidden, especially from their monitors. So he remained quiet and watched. Robin switched to heat sensors and then saw another smaller heat source leading the MS. Zooming in Robin saw that it was the same size as a human. Perhaps the other boy? Maybe, but he wasn't going to reveal his position.
As soon as he stood he would have a direct line of sight into the transport hangars. Two shots at most, and the job would be done. He watched as the boy was targeted by the MS, and he saw the boy get back on the bike and travel into the forest. Well fine, the boy could escape now, Robin had a job to do. He was about to make his Gundam stand when a huge object appeared on his screen. It was pretty much the size of his Gundam, and it was standing up quickly. Robin flipped on his communications link and listened to what the pilot and the MS were saying.
"No! Don't shoot him!" The MS was saying
"Why not?" There were two other MS and they were transporting the space laser.
"Because she's a woman." The boy in the Gundam finally answered.
Robin couldn't hold back any longer. In a flippant tone he said "You're a little messed up aren't you?"
With that he stood and sent a missile at the hangars . There was a plane already in the air and the other Gundam had dispatched the MS suits and was firing the space laser at it. It exploded as well. Since there was nothing else to do Robin activated the jets and started to fly away. A face then appeared on his screen, it was the other boy. Robin had guessed as much. Who else would be the pilot?
"What did you say?"
Robin was still wearing his mask so he allowed his image to come on the other?s screen. "Nothing, you have something against women?"
"Why are you one?"
Robin's eyebrow raised a little, but his face remained impassive, indicating that the barb had found no lodging. "Why so defensive?"
"I don't need you interfering with my work."
"Who's interfering? I had a mission, I accomplished it."
At that Robin cut off communication. This guy was not worth talking to, and Robin didn't want to waste his time. He made it back to his hiding place and covered his Gundam. He had kept an eye on the other Gundam, to see if it would follow him. It didn't, and Robin sighed in relief. He did know, however, that the boy would know where his Gundam was, as Robin knew the whereabouts of the boy's Gundam. Well, if the boy did anything, Robin could easily turn the tables.
Stepping out of the Gundam Redbird Robin headed to where he had hidden his clothes. A quick change later and Robin was no longer a Gundam pilot. He was Robert, a blond, brown eyed youth that attended the prestigious boarding school nearby. At the moment he was dressed in shiny black pants and a silky shirt. His excuse was that he had gone to a club, at least that is what he told his roommate. He groaned internally, next time he would have to make sure he got a single. He sneaked back into his room and noticed the lights in his room were still on. Robin's roommate was still awake doing homework. Thinking quickly Robin decided to enter into the hallway and key into his room.
"Still doing homework?" he asked when he 'noticed' that his roommate was still awake.
"Naw man, I was waiting up for you. I wanted to see if you would get caught." His roommate mumbled into his paper.
This made Robin laugh since his roommate obviously didn't mean what he said. Finishing a typed sentence with a flair of his wrist, Robin's roommate leaned back and faced Robin, who had changed out of his clothes into a pair of boxers and a shirt.
"Whoa Robert, you change quick," Robin didn't  answer, wondering what his roommate would say if Robin told him it was a necessary skill in his profession. "So how was it?"
Robin smiled, "Dude, it was awesome!"
Before he could say more he was interrupted by a hand and his roommate saying
"Save it, I don't want to hear about how many girls draped themselves over you begging you to take them home."
"Well..."
"Hey, I said I didn't want to hear it!" A smile coloring his words.
Robin shrugged and pretended to be disappointed, he was actually pretty glad he didn't have to explain a thing.
The end of the semester was in a week, and there weren?t any new assignments, so Robin decided to stay, and make some excuse as to why he was not going to come back the next semester. It was after his second final examination that he saw the other Gundam pilot waiting at a picnic table outside where Robin took the exam. He was obviously waiting for Robin, but Robin didn't take the bait. The other boy was too conspicuous. It would raise too many questions if he went up to the boy. He had only one more test later that day before he could leave. Robin ignored the boy and continued talking to his classmate. He knew the boy hadn't clearly seen his features, due to the mask and the darkness. Robin went to his room and pretended to study. Instead he thought about how the pilot could have tracked him. Since the possibilities were endless, Robin decided to ask him later, if the boy was still there.
He wasn't. Robin took his last test, gallivanted in front of his roommate who had one more test to take, packed his things and left. He drove a car filled with his stuff to a storage facility nearby. Taking out his key he opened his storage room. Inside was the motorcycle that he had used at the Victoria Base. He wheeled it outside, then put all his unimportant baggage in the room. In a year the owners of the storage space would throw away the junk he placed in the room. When he was finished he threw his small duffel bag over his shoulder and threw his key somewhere into the bushes.
However, before he could make it back to his bike he was tackled from behind. His one thought before hitting the ground was that the person was good. The rest was instinct. One hand cushioned his fall while the other reached into his shirt to pull out his collapsed BO. He always carried that BO on his person, one never knew when psycho, women-hating, Gundam pilots would attack.
He removed the chain attached to the BO from around his neck and wrapped the chain around one finger. He then hit the boy behind him with the collapsed BO. It hit the boy squarely in the back. Using the other boy's momentary inattention Robin rolled from under him and stood in a ready position, the collapsed BO held firmly in his right hand. The other boy was instantly on his feet also in a ready position.
"And why are we fighting?" Robin asked.
The other boy relaxed his stance, crossing his arms across his chest, staring imperiously at Robin. "I wanted to see if you were as quick as your mouth"
Not feeling the need to hide his emotions, the corners of his mouth twitched up in a smile. "And?"
"Adequate"
At that response Robin became aware that he had indeed hurt the other pilot, and the other pilot was hiding the pain quite well. "I'm Robin, you are?"
"Chang Wufei"
Something in the way he said it indicated that if he were called Wufei, Robin wouldn't live to see another day.
"So Wufei, you need a ride somewhere, or can I be on my way?"
Wufei's eyebrow raised a little but he declined to comment "I have transportation."
Robin smiled straddling his bike. Just before putting on his helmet he grinned at Wufei and said "Well then, I'll see you later."
Then he drove off to his Gundam.'
