This is my Jetty dog...
This was my dog Jett, we recently had to put her to sleep because she had cancer. We got her from a shelter three years ago (three short years), she came from an abusive family and had been in the shelter nearly two months. After much love and nurturing, she became an incredibly sweet and caring dog. She loved everyone she got to know, and could not get enough attention ever! She loved bred. And she loved to go into attack mode (Jetty-Mon) in the mornings in the living room with Terrel and tackle me along with him. She loved exploring in the park especially at Laurelhurst with her lovely buddy Chaya. She loved to pull me on my skateboard up Francis street, and sleep on Nessa's bed. She was the sweetest dog, and I miss her so so much. I love her still, and always will have a place for her in my heart.
Jett also says: Don't buy dogs from pet stores!!! (such as Scamps) They almost always come from puppy mills. Horrible places where dogs are bred over and over and are kept in small cages their entire lives. They never know the love of a family, they live to breed and die. Most are sick and suffering. Help break the chain! Boycott Scamps and any pet stores that sell multiple breeds of dogs. This is usually an indicator that the dogs are from puppy mills, especially if there are mixed breeds as well. No responsible breeder would cross breeds, and no caring breeder would take their dog to a pet shop to be sold. So please, if you want a canine companion, go to the local shelter or humane society, there are many many friends waiting for good homes!
Jett says: Get your doggies and kitties spayed or neutered!! Thousands upon thousands of animals are euthanized in shelters every year because of uncurbed breeding, and lack of enough families who are wanting pets. Still more die on the streets of starvation and injury because they were unwanted litters abandoned. So please, have your pets fixed!
Jetty's book reccomendation: If you are getting a puppy or an older dog, or have a behavioral problem with your dog you wish to remedy or just want to teach her tricks...THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!! It is called Good Owners, Great Dogs and it is written by Brian Kilcommons who is a professional dog trainer. My girl Ashley learned many good things from this book and it helped her to teach me what she wanted, and helped make us both very happy with eachother. It helps you understand what your dog is thinking, and helps you learn to convey to your dog what you are thinking and what you want, without confusion or frustration. I've never found a better book on dog training. It has something for everyone, and everyone's situation or problem. It literally is a must have for any dog owner.
