GENERAL SKILLS:
� I have worked fairly extensively with use and  software troubleshooting  with DOS, Microsoft Windows (3.x), and Windows95 operating systems during my own time as well as different bits of UNIX here and there and have some working knowledge of OS/2 version 3 (Warp) and Linux.
� I have had to be able to answer users questions about software and general function and commands for the MacIntosh, UNIX, and even NeXT OS's part of my job as a lab consultant for the Math Department .
� I have some programming knowledge in C++, BASIC, and also some programming in Mathematica. I have worked pretty extensively with Mathematica. Used or helped others use it for my entire five years at this University.
� I know HTML at a fair level (enough to come up with an O.K. page fairly quickly) and have not yet taken the time to learn how to use some of the <TAGS>newer</TAGS>:).  But I have done both hand coding and used editors.
� I've had some Life Guard Training and First Aid and CPR training at various times. I am not currently certified. And I can swim pretty proficiently too, and even though I have not done any divers certification, I would be very enthused and I think capable of  it should it berequired to learn that skill for this job.

� I have proficiency in general microspy techniques and sterile culture, and various other microbiological plating, counting, characterization techniques from taking a number of classes dealing with culturable organisms.  Also have done dissolved oxygen measurements and other standard water quality evaluations in my Limnology and Wetlands classes.
� I have taken two classes dealing with GIS, one a general course that used ERDAS Imagine and ESRI's ArcView and a second one using ESRI's ArcInfo to model the hydrology of watersheds.
� I have had one summer's experience using the Fisons Instruments' NA1500 NC nitrogen and carbon analyzer and would feel comfortable using this piece of equipment (or others like it with instruction).

WORK PERFORMED:
Teaching students how to begin working with Mathematica software to do homework assignments for a lab component of the first Calculus class in the Mathematica intensive series MA160. I also graded the assignments and helped with some conceptual help on the concepts as well as advice on debugging their Mathematica code.
�Note: This is the term that I was diagnosed with Type I diabetes and lost a week of work to being in hospital, and was not at my normal capacity for a while before and after.

WORK PERFORMED:
Helping students, faculty, and grad students use the limited software in the
Math Science department to do day to day as well as sometimes more complex problems in the Macintosh/Unix/NeXT networked environment. The questions were software related along with the occasional reboot when needed. Learned how to kill jobs and work around obsolete or messed up software, as well as answering many, many Mathematica related questions. There was also teaching some people how to use the internet for the first time, well teaching people how to use computers especially UNIX based ones for the first time, and for awhile after that till they got good at it. Always an adventure, but it was very enjoyable helping people out when I could.
