She ducked down at the first sound of gun fire, then crawled towards
Seska. They we're almost out of the plain when the bullet hit the
main fuel line. They we're thrown away from the body but the flames
followed.
Kate would have screamed, but the flames stole the air from her
lungs. The burning she felt in side was almost as bad as the burning
on the out.
Seska had tried to shield Kate with her own body, so she took most of
the flames. Kate was dazed, but still managed to help Seska up and
they fled into the night. As they ran Kate got weaker until Seska was
carrying her in her arms.
Kate didn't remember much after the first shots, unless she was
sleeping. Then her mind took her back to replay the events. On the
few nights that the dreams didn't come she would sleep almost
peacefully. If it were not for the now ever present wheezing of her
damaged lungs trying to work.

Seska never left her side, when the dreams came she held Kate until
she quit shaking. Unlike Kate Seska remembered the whole thing, in
crystal clarity. She felt the flames on her skin every minute of
every day. She was burned over half of her body. Her back alone
looked like a patch work quilt. But she never really felt the pain,
she only felt pain when her Kate was hurting and she could do nothing
to help.
Just as feelings of guilt, for not preventing her from making Kate
better, washed over her a knock pulled her thoughts back to now.

She walked to the door and peaked to see who it was. One of the monks
of Kate's compounds, handed her a note. He cringed when she smiled
and told him to get the others gathered. "We have a plan to finish
for your Mistress. You want to keep her happy don't you?" Seska knew
they feared her and loved it. He nodded and ran from the door.
Seska turned and was pined by Kate's eyes. She smiled brighter at the
smile on Kate's face. "The plan will soon be complete, then you will
have everything you desired."
Kate smiled and relaxed back into the bed. `Soon my pet. Soon I WILL
have you back where you belong.' She thought to herself.

Bee smiled at Anna, opened her door and helped her out. "What is such
a fine lookin ` Lady doin' down here? I thought you would be in your
office, or out questioning the monk from the factory, but no I find
you down here." Anna blushed over the compliment, then she thought
about what Bee had just said.
Anna raised an eye brow and asked Bee "How did you know he was a
monk? No one but the officers on the task force knows that."
Bee smiled to Anna. "I was, or am being followed by on of them. They
are from Kate, and you can be sure that if they are snoopin around
Kate is still among the living. If she made it chances are good that
Seska did to. The monks are part of `Kate's Way of Thinking'. She has
compounds through out the world. "
Anna shivered, feeling like someone just walked over her grave, then
scanned the area close by. Bee saw the shiver and nodded her head
slightly to show Anna where they were.

The monk in the car ducked down and hoped she hadn't been seen. She
stayed down until she heard the motor cycle start up. Then she peeked
over the dash just in time to see Bee pulling out and heading to the
freeway.
She was going to start the car when a hand reached in the window and
yanked her out. She yellped as her head hit the pavement. That pain
was quickly replaced with a much greater pain. As she opened her
eyes, all she saw was black leather. Then Bee grabs her by the front
of the robe and lifted her up face to face.
"I don't like being FOLLOWED! It makes me really pissy. Now we have a
problem, what am I going to do with you." The smile on Bee's face was
enough to convince the woman to give up.
When Bee released her, the woman dropped to her knees and bowed
down. "Thank you for sparing me mistress. I will serve you faithfully
till my last breath."
Bee knelt down in front of the woman and pulled her up so she could
see her face. "I know you. I remember you from compound 7." The woman
nodded and tried to look down. Bee forced her eyes up. "Then you will
remember that I am NOT a Mistress, yours or anyone else's. Got that?"
Bee asked with a smile.
The woman held her gaze and nodded. She smiled at Bee, but at the
sound of the bike coming back the woman jumped and tried to run.

Bee cought a hold of her before she got to far. "Hey, easy now. She's
with me. She won't hurt you." At the still unsure look in her eyes
she added. "You trust me, don't you?" At her nod Bee
continued. "Good. Then you know if I saw she's ok then she is.
Right?" Another nod and a smile. "I remember when we use to sneek off
the smoke on the roof." Bee smiled at the memory.

Once Anna was safely back in her car and Kes was with her, Bee took
off for her original destination.
*******
As Anna drove she glanced over at Kes. She seemed almost terrified of
the world. As she pulled into her space at home she turned to Kes.
"If anyone asks your my sister. That way they won't bug you then."
Kes nodded and they got out of the car. Heading up to Anna's place
Kes turned to her and asked. "Do you ever get lonely?" Anna nodded.

"Being a Det. takes a lot of time. It's not like a regular 9 to 5
job. No matter where I am, I feel that I am always on duty." Anna
looked regretful, then shook it off. They were silent for the rest
of the ride up.
*******
Checking the paper again Bee made sure that THIS was indeed what she
was looking for. The house looked plain enough, but add to that the 5
toilets turned flower bed in the front yard, 7 wind mills twirled
happily in the breezy and enough `junk' to fill 20 garbage trucks,
then you are talking weird.
Bee heard a horrible screeching of metal on metal just before one of
the wind mills toppled over.

A cloud of dust rose up to cover everything, just as it started to
clear Bee thought her sight had to be messed up. Walking out of the
smoke like she had just stepped out of a crazy `teens' magazine, came
the owner of the house and `stuff'.
Walking right to Bee and extending her hand, she introduced
herself. "You must be the one Tommy called about. Sorry about the
dust, just doing a little `spring `. I need the springs for my latest
invention." Bee shook the offered hand, instantly liking the woman.
"I'm Sam, Tommy said you we're having a problem. Thought it might
give my brain a real work out."
Bee opened her jacket and Sam's eyes lit up. "Where did you get that?
That stuff is still in the testing stages."

Bee now felt a LITTLE better about the meeting. "So does that mean
you can help me?"
"I'll see what I can do....."
