Hey look, it's Fulcrum! Back from.. well... wherever he went when New Crystal City was destroyed and Trypticon took another long swim. Currently the surly Blacksmith is standing a distance from the drone, which is holding up a large holographic target. Squinting down the length of his heat-ray, he unleashes a tightly focussed beam of heat, striking the target near the center. He frowns at the drone, taking out a datapad and making a note.
Catechism watches Fulcrum from the entranceway. Oh, hey, that Seeker's MSE! And doesn't Catechism need to track down someone from MSE, like, now? She wanders over to Fulcrum, heedless of the holographic target, and asks, hope in her voice, "Hey, got a minute?"
Fulcrum looks up from the barrel of his arm-mounted weapon and across the room at Catechism, wondering how long she's been standing there. "I am testing my new targeting matrix" he intones. "But it is not particularly important. Why?"
Catechism shrugs and says, "Well, if you're busy..." She pauses and resumes. "I'm sure testing a targeting matrix takes a lot of long and careful work and all that." She might not be the brightest crayon in the box (although she is one of the pointier ones), but she knows that bugging MSE is a bad idea. They might put your arms on backwards if you torque 'em off. "Just wanted to get your opinion on the best way to improve my stru... structural..." Structural stability? Ah, but she can't quite recall that. "...make it so I can take more hits." Actually, she'd accept just about any MSEer's opinion on it, but she doesn't say that now.
Truth be told, Fulcrum is a little bored. And Catechism's problem sounds more interesting than shooting at a target all day. So long as they don't end up talking about thermodynamics again. He can never remember how that's supposed to do. "There are a number of methods" Fulcrum replies. "You could have more duplicate systems insalled, providing you with backups when the primary systems are damaged. You could have your internal framework strengthened and extended, with more of your vital systems being encased behind protective barriers. Or you could improve the quality and quantity of your external plating, making it more resistant to incoming fire." He ticks off the points on his fingers as he speaks. "All of these methods have their merits and flaws, and often a combination of them all is the best way to proceed."
Catechism listens attentively, although quite a bit of what Fulcrum says goes over her head. After a moment of processing, she replies, "Ah. So that's how it goes? I've been saving up my energon to get an upgrade done, and I want to get it done right." She grins, bouncing a little on her heels. She's also getting a new bucket!
Fulcrum frowns suspiciously at Catechism, always suspsicious of just how /cheerful/ she is. It's disturbing. It's probably just as well she didn't mention that bucket thing as well. "Well, make a request to MSE, and you will be scheduled in."
Catechism tries to avoid mentioned the bucket thing. It tends to get odd reactions out of others. She glances down and makes an arc on the floor with one of her feet. How simple it sounds. Silly Catechism. She glances back up and says, smiling, "That easy, huh? Well, thanks." Fairly skipping, the coneheaded Seeker heads for the door, leaving Fulcrum to beat up the drone or whatever it is he was doing.
