Trypticon Training Room

This stark, spacious chamber is well-reinforced and shielded to stand up to the strain of many practice bouts. A training drone stands in one corner of the room, ready for a workout. The walls are sheathed in protective alloys that house sensors and cameras to project to the shielded monitors, allowing the combatants to observe their fight and progress. Off to the side are a few seats for spectators to observe the combatants and let out a cheer or two.

Well, well, what have we here? Three seekers, yellow, blue, and green. Too bad one is MSE, but hey, there are plenty of MSE seekers, and some can even hold their own. Fleet, who, against his own will, is actually ranking Decepticon, looks at the others and smiles just slightly. "All right. Glad you guys were willing to make it. I appreciate your making time." He pauses, wondering if he should practice being angry this battle.

Verdant Verdant smiles slightly. "Not a problem. Though not my primary function... it is always good to exercise my combat skills." More and more, he seems to find himself pairing up with Fleet and Catechism these days. It is a feeling of comradery, a feeling he enjoys.

Catechism seems to have better luck hitting things when she's pissed off, but that's probably just a weird statistical fluke. In any case, she's glad to have another non-gumby Seeker around who is on decent terms with her. Now that Catechism knows that her usual flying partner might get Sweeped, she's got keep her optics open for new options. She shrugs blithely and says with a grin, "I need to get more practice in, anyway."

Fleet is not going to get Sweeped! At least, he has no intention of doing so, but Fate and the Lady may have other ideas for him. The pastel yellow seeker taps a few keys and pull up... the desert of Carbombya. How nice. Might as well get used to operating in a desert environment, after all... and then he takes off, his posture readying, but doesn't attack. "Well, whenever you guys are read." <attack_ok>

Though often lacking in personal iniative, Verdant's also smart enough to know sometimes, it's best to just take action. With as much quickness as he can muster, he brings up his arm weapon and fires on Fleet.

Verdant misses Fleet with his arm laser (low power burst) attack.

Catechism gets in the air. The ground is not the place for her. Yadda yadda yadda. A quick hop, a flare of bootjets, and she's up and away. Catechism really hasn't fought Fleet in a while, and he's had that agility upgrade. Ought to make things interesting. However, Verdant's even more of an unknown variable, so it's the scientist that she targets. She aims for one of his wings, keying up her taser.

Verdant evades your taser attack.

Fleet is going to have a hard time getting angry if he doesn't get hit, but then, curiously, he's not often angry in combat anyway (hypocritical Autobots aside). In the early moments he just loves the feeling of sky, of dancing away from other's shots, to be angry, and later he's too worried about his own survival.... he pirouettes out of the way of Verdant's attack, one arm raised, other held out, and fires when the green seeker comes into view. Catechism may hit hard, but Verdant has that... that whatever it is, and that hurts worse than anything the conehead can dish out!

Fleet misses Verdant with his Death By A Thousand Papercuts attack.

Attacked from two sides, it takes some fancy footwork for Verdant to avoid strikes from both Fleet and Catechism, but he manages it anyway. For him, Fleet is the more known quality, a master of aerial agility. Perhaps it would be best if he focused on Catechism and tested her mettle. Launching himself into the air, he takes aim at her and fires.

<Attack:> Verdant used disruptor. (&combatspam me=1 to stop this.)

Verdant strikes you with disruptor for 2 points of damage.

Catechism notes with some interest that the botanist manages to avoid both her shot and Fleet's. It's that interest that keeps her from paying enough attention to get out of the way when he shoots at her. All that said, she parley notices the hit. Eh, a little scoring on her paint, and that's it. She brings her arm gun to bear again, this time snapping off a zap-blast, and arcs above, taking an irregular path.

Verdant evades your Zap! attack.

She might not notice /that/, but just wait until Verdant pulls out his 'big guns'. For the moment the yellow seeker continues to focus on the green, but it's almost more in the interest of seeing that both his foes take damage before himself than anything. With unconscious flourish Fleet twists and then dive-flies at Verdant, attempting to clip the back of his head/intakes with a fly-by punch.

Fleet misses Verdant with his Flyby Punch attack.

By dodging Catechism's blast, Verdant is only barely able to dodge Fleet's flying punch, but he manages it all the same. Call it a good survival instinct, call it dumb luck, but he can sometimes prove to be a darn hard bugger to hit. Time to push his attack a little more, conentrating on the one he's proven he can hit: Catechism. A taser bolt perhaps...?

<Attack:> Verdant used taser. (&combatspam me=1 to stop this.)

You evade Verdant's taser attack.

Catechism actually flips back to avoid Verdant's blast. It's different than her usual half-turn, but these training session are good for practicing new things. The thing about the back flip is that it means she can't see her target for a while, which has its disadvantages. Also, if she's having this much trouble hitting a noncombatant, she doesn't want to think about going after Fleet. So once Catechism has righted herself, she orients on Verdant again, selecting her disruptor this time.

You strike Verdant with disruptor.

Anger, anger... but Fleet is not an angry robot, and neither of these two are particularly offensive! Plus, they're concentrating on each other, which has left him sa- wait a minute! They're /ignoring/ him! Desperately, Fleet tries to grasp at that... tries to stir up some resentment for being dismissed (a state he usually craves), and can feel the beginnings of the stirrings, but still, little enough. Catechism. She should know better. Verdant is MSE, and yet she concentrates on him over Fleet! The yellow seeker turns away after his fly-by and spins quickly, flinging an arm out and throwing a few laser pulses in the conehead's direction.

<Attack:> Fleet used pistol. (&combatspam me=1 to stop this.)

You evade Fleet's Shoulder-Mounted Laser Rifle <Pulse Mode> attack.

Catechism's attack hurts Verdant, but not by too terribly much. He recovers quickly and decides now's as good a time as ever to let her see what he can really do. If successful, it should prove quite surprising. He arms his "special" weapon and lets loose with his rot ray.

<Attack:> Verdant used repeating. (&combatspam me=1 to stop this.)

Verdant strikes you with Rot Ray for 8 points of damage.

Verdant's Rot Ray attack continues to sear away at you, doing 4 damage.

Verdant's Rot Ray attack continues to sear away at you, doing 2 damage.

Verdant's Rot Ray attack wears off at last.

Catechism takes a hit. Eh, it doesn't seem too bad, but she glances at the wound, anyway, and before her optics, the metal corrodes and breaks as she watches, widening the wound and eating away at the rest of the surrounding metal. Her optics widen both with pain and surprise. Now that's something special! However, unless she misses her guess, that probably took a bit out of the scientist. Catechism doesn't have time to charge up her magnetic coils for a gauss attack, but she does snap off a laser shot, aiming for one of Verdant's guns. Then, she jinks off sharply to the right, heading straight towards Fleet.

Verdant evades your laser attack.

Fleet keeps missing! Why does Fleet keep missing! Now he tries to focus on that as Catechism flies right toward him, flying backwards to make it harder for her to close the distance and reaching his hands towards her. "Dammit!" he snarls. "Take a hit, already!" Of course, she just took one from Verdant, but that's not what he's thinking of here.

<Attack:> Fleet used ballistic. (&combatspam me=1 to stop this.)

You evade Fleet's Rail Gun attack.

While it is true that using his rot ray takes something out of Verdant, it doesn't make him helpless. A dive and a roll allows him to avoid the attack, and swoop down in, bringing his feet up at the last second to try for a kick on Catechism.

<Attack:> Verdant used kick. (&combatspam me=1 to stop this.)

Verdant strikes you with kick for 6 points of damage.

Catechism finally notices that Fleet is shooting at her, too. He's just not having as much luck hitting her as Verdant is. Speaking of Verdant, he just kicked a big ol' hole through one of her wings, and it hurt a lot more than his wussy taser. Still, she decides to spread the love and stop picking on Verdant for the time being. Catechism lunges, grabbing at Fleet. She's going to see just how fast he really is now.

grasp fleet

Catechism succeeds in grasping Fleet, throwing him off-balance.

"Wha-?!" exclaims the startled yellow seeker as he's grabbed. "Hey, leggo!" he shouts, pulling a gray fist back and delivering it to the conehead's face, intent on making her regret restricting his freedom of movement.

<Attack:> Fleet used punch. (&combatspam me=1 to stop this.)

Fleet strikes you with Fleet Fist for 3 points of damage.

With their attention now focused on each other, Verdant has ample opportunity to strike at either of them. Best to aim for Fleet, given his current state of grappling with Catechism. Taking careful aim, he lets loose with his laser.

Verdant strikes Fleet with arm laser.

Catechism takes a punch to the face. It only hurts marginally more than Verdant's taser, so that's not saying much. It's not enough to get her to loosen her grip on the yellow Seeker. She laughs, tightens her grip on Fleet, and tries to swing him around and towards Verdant. Once she's happy with the trajectory, she lets go.

Fleet strikes Verdant with ram.

Verdant reels from the impact with Fleet and spirals from the sky, the glass of his cockpit section notably cracked. He's hurt, he's angry, and perhaps he's not thinking as well as he should. As such, when he regains his senses, he flies forward, intent on attacking, not Catechism, but Fleet, his botanical knife sliding easily into his hand.

Verdant strikes Fleet with botanist's knife.

Fleet is thrown into Verdant, but is able to brace himself enough that the impact does minimal damage... that isn't that minimal. Like Verdant, he tumbles after impact, his intakes badly dented by the impact, and although he's able to stabilize his flight before the botanist, the distraction of doing so leaves him open to Verdant's blade, which slices into his left wing. "Aaarruggh!" he cries incoherently before transforming, working hard to compensate for his damaged wing as he flies back towards the gal who through him. "I've had enough of this!"

Fleet transforms from robot to pyramid jet.

<Attack:> Fleet used rocket. (&combatspam me=1 to stop this.)

You evade Pyramid Jet (Fleet)'s Rocket attack.

Catechism looks inordinately pleased with herself. Yeah, ranged attacks may be where she's a Viking, but when it comes to practice, she can afford to spice things up a little. Catechism jets up, letting Fleet's rockets go below her. Verdant doesn't look too happy...but neither does Fleet. Choices, choices. If Fleet has pulled out his jet mode, he's got to be hurting. She could try taking him out. However, Catechism still knows less about Verdant and decides to play with him a bit more. Hmm, wonder how he likes Mr. Gauss?

You strike Verdant with gauss.

Verdant staggers under the attack, tumbling to the ground and rolling awkwardly to get himself back up. Though it was again Catechism that hurt him, he's more concerned with doing damage, with actually winning. The more he fights these days, it seems, the more a competitive urge springs out in him. Taking aim, he decides to unleash his special power on Fleet.

Verdant misses Pyramid Jet (Fleet) with his Rot Ray attack.

Pyramid Jet (Fleet) tilts and transforms, the action breaking his momentum and allowing him to twist out of the way of Verdant's special attack (though, thankfully, he's not made aware that it's anything beyond the ordinary kind of attack). He spares a glance for the green seeker that just shot at him, but decides to continue to concentrate on the conehead. Having passed her in his rocket run, he now flies at her back, twisting again as he gets close enough to bring both feet towards the middle of her back.

The yellow Cybertronian jet unfolds, revealing the robotic form of the seeker Fleet.

<Attack:> Fleet used kick. (&combatspam me=1 to stop this.)

Fleet strikes you with Pastel Seeker Hookerboots for 6 points of damage.

Catechism grins widely as her magnetic blast tears into Verdant. Looks like he's not built too sturdy, unlike a certain green MSE Seeker that she knows. Then, she gets kicked in the back by Fleet, which hurts just as much as Verdant's kick. Another point toward Seeker conformity! Now, she descends to the ground and shakes herself. She's not scared at all, and she's been enjoying herself, but... patrols calls. Catechism waves up to the other two Seekers sadly and calls out, "I've got to jet, guys. Have fun." Still, she learned a lot here. It was a useful session.
