QUEER FAMILIES
INFORMATION SESSIONS

Queer Families ACT hosts information sessions regularly.  These sessions include a guest speaker followed by discussion.  There are between 10 - 30 people at most meetings.  Children are welcome.

2003 included the following information sessions -

Women's Fertility and Infertility issues - We were joined by a fertility expert who talked about tracking your cycle, pregnancy options etc...

Legal issues - a panel of expert speakers provided us with an update on the legal siutations - including the legal implications of self-insemination, domestic relationships agreements, parenting agreements, legal rights of the birth and non-birth partner, birth certificates etc.....

Men's issues - October 2003 - two inspirational speakers told of their personal experiences as gay men who wanted to be parents and the way they went about this.  Two very different perspectives and very enlightening stories.

ACT Queer Law Reform - the Good Process spoke about the law reform in the ACT.

We are in the process of evaluating our 2003 information sessions and planning for 2004.  Please assist by completing our survey - click here to download the survey.
