VICE PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Hi Neighbors!

June has finally arrived with its warmth and the greening and flowering of our neighborhoods.

There are no civic meetings in July and August, but we will be around the community working to maintain our quality of life. If you encounter serious problems, call us at (718) 468-2160 for help.

Police of the 105th Precinct will initiate a “zero tolerance” policy this summer against the blasting music of backyard parties.  That means issuing summonses without first asking to lower the volume. Everyone loves a party, but your music should not be heard many blocks away as it disrupts the peace and tranquillity of the neighborhood and angers residents. (Refer to article in the news page.)

This year’s “National Night Out Against Crime” will be held on Tuesday, August 3, at the 105th Precinct, located at 92-08 - 222nd  Street,  in Queens Village,  from 6:00 P.M. to 10:00 P.M.  Please join us. We will be sending the message that we will be strong and vigilant in our efforts to keep our communities safe and peaceful.

The Queens Village-Hollis-Bellerose Ambulance Corps needs financial help for its operations and to finish the reconstruction of its Headquarters that was destroyed by a devastating fire.  The Corps hopes that the work will be completed by October of this year.  You can support your community’s free voluntary ambulance service by sending a check or money order to the Corps at P. 0. 280003, Queens Village, New York, 11428-0003.  Also, volunteers are needed to provide life-saving care to our residents.  The telephone number is (718) 464-2424.

You are cordially invited to attend our 47th  Annual Dinner and Installation of Officers.  Ceremony on Tuesday, June 15, at 7:30 P.M.  Tickets are $10.00 per person and can be purchased at the door. You’ll enjoy a night out with friends and the delicious buffet dinner.

Have a wonderful, safe, and fun-filled summer.

Truly yours,

Amelia A. Kent
