| Queen's preserved their unbeaten record at Gretna's Raydale Park and in so doing produced one of their most unexpected results of the season, coming off the back off a depressing and heavy defeat against Stranraer. In contrast to that previous game, yesterday brought a more determined and cohesive performance, as Kenny Brannigan's alterations to the line-up bore fruit for a change. Queen's managed to ride their luck at times, particularly when Gretna three times hit the woodwork during the first half, but by the time of the winning goal, looked assured of at least a draw. Reilly's goal, though, meant things finished a little better than that. And in Derek Carcary, a diamond has been unearthed. He never stopped giving David Holdsworth bother for the full 90 minutes, and he was successfully partnered by an eager and quick Frankie Carroll. The two were among the most best performers in the Queen's team, alongside Jonny Whelan whose restoration to midfield made us less brittle in that area, and Danny Ferry who put in a power of effort as we are used to seeing. Gretna manager Rowan Alexander must be sick of the sight of Queen's Park, and if the guillotine is getting sharpened for him, the pressure has been relieved a little for Kenny Brannigan with what was a dedicated display and a fine, fine result - one which again illustrates the perversity of Scottish football; the division's amateurs defeat its only full-time team. Due to a computer error, what was left of my match-report was lost; I may get around to writing it again but apologies for the lack of one at the moment.
