Steven Moffat Born: Bellshill, 3rd July 1981 Signed: from Arbroath, July 2002 Height: N/A Mass: N/A Debut: vs. Elgin City, 03/08/02 Steve has looked a class act at the back so far and could well rate as one of John McCormack's smartest signings. A crisp passer, a cool player when dealing with opposing forwards, and a guy who pushes forward whenever possible. Started out at Ipswich, before Arbroath rescued him from obscurity to return him to his homeland. Not a regular at Gayfield, but if he keeps turning in the types of displays he has so far, then Queen's will do well to keep him at Hampden.

Richard Sinclair Born: Glasgow, 20th May 1982 Signed: from Queen's Park U'18s, August 1999 Height: 5ft 10in Mass: 12st Debut: vs. East Stirlingshire, 07/08/99 QP League Career Apps Goals 1999/2000 12 (3) - 2000/01 17 (3) - 2001/02 11 (1) - Made his debut when just 17 years old, reflecting the belief in his potential, having been a championship winning skipper at U'16 level. But Richard has never been able to become a regular in the Queen's defence, and so far this season has been used as a substitute whenever he has been on the field- notably at Berwick in the Bell's Cup, where he did a sterling job as a makeshift left-back. Usually, Sinclair favours a central defensive position. Still only 21, he is one of the longest serving players on the books.

John Thompson Born: Glasgow, 10th July 1984 Signed: on a Queen's Park Form D U-16, August 2002 Height: 5ft 11in Mass: 11st Debut: vs. Stirling Albion, 30/08/2003 One of the youngsters whom Kenny Brannigan envisages as part of Queen's Park's future, Thompson has filled in on the left-hand side of defence in the typical 3-5-2 formation. He is still finding his feet in the team and his inexperience is betrayed by a tendency to lose possession cheaply. Having said that, he tackles strongly, is mobile and clearly wants to push forward whenever he can even if he does appear limited in this respect. John broke through at a good time with McCallum struggling through injury and little other cover on the left.
